Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Hartselle Church of Christ is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Members at Hartselle Church of Christ are involved in a variety of ministries from greeting members and guest as they enter the building, participating in the worship services, or being part of a mission team to a foreign land.  If you desire to volunteer your services or talents to further the boarders of His Kingdom, please fill out one of our involvement forms located HERE —

Below you will find a small sample of some of our Ministries at Hartselle Church of Christ!

Mission Outreach

Hartselle Church of Christ is thrilled to be able to spread The Good News of the Bible around the world. We are active in sending missionaries and mission teams through the world. We have multiple missions in work at Hartselle Church of Christ and they include — Romania, Brazil, South Alabama, Por Los Ninos, and our Jail/Prison Ministry. Each year, a small team from our church travels to any one of these missions to assist in practical projects, medical missions and evangelistic outreach. We encourage all of our members to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they participate in missions to a foreign country or live and minister in our own community.

Music

God-honoring worship is something we strive for.  One of the unique things about churches of Christ is that the music is “a cappella.” That is, we sing without the accompaniment of musical instruments.  This is a conviction with us, not just a preference. It has its roots in scripture. We are seeking to worship according to the New Testament pattern. Since the New Testament gives no direction of the use of instrumental music, we believe it’s best to exclude it in practice, too.  We think you’ll find the singing meaningful, with everyone being invited to participate in raising our voices to God and encouragement to one another.

Ushers

The usher and greeter team at Hartselle Church of Christ fills an important role. They are involved in assisting attendees to their seats, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of Hartselle Church of Christ. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in video and audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook, YouTube and Twitter feed for additional church communication.

Children’s Bible Hour

In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, Hartselle Church of Christ holds a children’s church service in conjunction with the main service. This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. Our friendly Children’s Bible Hour volunteers have an endless stream of creativity–ranging from puppet shows, to games, to object lessons.
